(Posted Apr 4, 2014) – This is a brand new program in a new hospital of 300 beds and an ED of 70,000 yearly visits. We are unique in our geography -- about 60 miles NW of NY City, and represent the assimilation of two community hospitals, that closed with our development. We have a medical school affiliation (Touro) and new education programs will bring us residents in the future--the medical students have already arrived! The position will answer to the Director of Trauma. Since we are moving along quickly and our ultimate goal is to morph into a Level II program someone with experience, would be prioritized. Our immediate goal is to attain ACS Level III status. -Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of a cost effective trauma program at a mid sized regional Medical Center -Oversight of the day to day clinical operations of the Trauma Program -Coordinate the Performance Improvement program based on the American College of Surgeons and State requirements -Oversee the staff related to the trauma program including Trauma Registry, Injury Prevention and Outreach Trauma Programs Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or Business Administration preferred • Minimum 3 years of trauma nursing clinical experience • Certification in TNCC
